The Moranbah Cumulative Impact Group (MCIG) is a voluntary organisation which was established in 2010.
The MCIG aims to better understand the cumulative impacts of development on the town of Moranbah.
MCIG works with stakeholders to help identify, mitigate and minimise impacts on the town. It also plays an important role in helping to ensure the community is educated and well informed on current issues, and the actions that are being taken to help to reduce their impact on the town.
The MCIG includes around 30 representatives from:
- The local community
- State and Local Government
- Mining, Rail and gas industries
- Agriculture
- Traditional owners
